Murfreesboro Hardwood Flooring

In 1995 I had my fill of working in restaurants and bars and was ready for something new. My uncle in Nashville had just started working for himself building hardwood floors. He had two jobs under his belt and I joined forces with him. Since that time I've been in the hardwood business. I worked for him for nearly three years, daily driving back and forth to Nashville, Franklin, and Brentwood. When work began on the widening of interstate 24 in 1998, I decided the commute had to end. I started working for myself finally. I partnered up with my friend Ron for a while. We struggled to keep enough work to make a great living but we were on our own and it felt great. Ron moved away to Colorado after about a year and I was on my own to make things work from that point on. I set my sights on Murfreesboro because the growth of the town had really set in and I was just tired of all the driving. I quit taking jobs in Nashville and started referring all my Nashville calls to my uncle. The business just grew and grew and in 2003 I was working a crew of eight full time employees. That was almost too many guys to keep up with. We normally worked on four different jobs a week. It was around that time that I incorporated and became officially known as Murfreesboro Hardwood Flooring Inc. In February 2004 I had the opportunity to purchase a historic home on Maney Avenue in downtown Murfreesboro. The move to downtown caused me to focus a lot of attention on restoring old houses. We've refinished antique floors for many homeowners along Main Street. We've worked in five buildings on the square and we've worked in the Oaklands Historic House Museum as well as the per-civil war Women's Club building.  It feels great to repair these old homes and make them beautiful again. We are currently focusing on residential remodel jobs. We will happily bid new construction jobs but we tend to book in advance from two to five weeks.
